The September Lust List

How did it get to be September already?! Summer is over and Halloween and (dare I say it...) Christmas are fast approaching. In truth I am quite excited, Christmas baking is so much fun and I love baking with pumpkin - a Halloween favourite. Anyway, we're not quite there yet. I will be enjoying the remaining warm(ish) days of the year before things starts to cool down. This month's lust list is inspired by items I have lusted after whilst watching The Great British Bake Off!

'Cakewich' Cake Mould
Location unknown!
I dreamt up an idea to make a 'cakewich' cake before I even knew what one was! After watching the first episode of The Great British Bake Off series 4, this amazing cake mould was revealed to me. I have searched the internet high and low but can only find this on ebay so far (and it's expensive, approx £40 inc. postage!). If you know where else this can be purchased, please tell me in the comments!

Tarte Maison Tin
Cooks Paraphernalia, £11.95
I adore the shape of these tins as the tarts you can make with them look so elegant and modern. Alan Silverwood is an excellent producer of good quality cake tins. I'd love to own this tin as well as several others by Silverwood!

Stainless Steel Cake Lifter
Amazon, £10.39
I recently bought this item and it is one of those products that you didn't realise you really needed until you have it. Many a cake handling disaster can be avoided with this handy gadget!

Thermospatula
Lakeland, £14.99
After watching the first episode of The Great British Bake Off series 4 you may have the urge to have a go at chocolate tempering and this is an essential tool. Plus, you have to appreciate the benefits of a 2 in 1 gadget.

  1. I agree with everything on your list list, not least because I have two of the things! I'm so glad I bought my Thermospatula and the silicone sandwich mould, though I haven't tried the latter yet. I got mine from Lakeland but they have been discontinued now. I know that doesn't help but maybe your nearest one might have one left in their sale? Or they might track an odd one down for you if you tell them you are a food blogger. My Lakeland have always been pretty helpful when I've been in so it might be worth a try and they are nowhere near £40 =)
